Demonstrating a commitment to the community is a primary goal of RYP. This is not only the right thing to do - it's good politics.

Through RYP's various community service projects, we develop contacts with community leaders and residents, and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to compassionate conservatism.

We are now proud to join with and lend our support to President Bush's USA Freedom Corps.

RYP has already helped such worthy causes as:

THE SALVATION ARMY FAMILY GATHERING HOME
LIFESOURCE BLOOD SERVICES
NORTHERN ILLINOIS FOOD BANK
TEEN CHALLENGE
MORTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
AMERICAN LEGION
CHICAGO'S SOUTH SIDE WOMEN'S SHELTER
MERCY HOME FOR BOYS AND GIRLS
USO OF ILLINOIS
AVON WALK FOR BREAST CANCER
UHLICH CHILDREN'S ADVANTAGE NETWORK
CHICAGO CANINE RESCUE
RYP has adopted a platoon!

As part of the Adopt-A-Platoon program, our mission is to help ensure that no U.S. soldier is forgotten. By sending our adopted soldiers care packages and morale lifting cards and letters, we will be giving them a little touch of home as a way to say "thank you" for serving on our behalf.

If you are interested in finding out how you can help, where the nearest drop-off point is to you or would like more information, please contact RYP Area Coordinator, Michael Wyszynski at (773) 728-7620.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
THE SALVATION ARMY FAMILY GATHERING HOME
The Salvation Army Family Gathering Home is the first of its kind in the Nation. The Salvation Army works with the Cook County Juvenille Courts in providing an alternative outlet for rehabilitation of at-risk youths. Instead of sending them out of state to a youth correctional facility, the Family Gathering Home allows the young men to stay in the community, in a family environment, but away from the negative street pressures of their past. By approaching rehabilitation holistically, the Family Gathering Home's success rate is far greater than any alternative.
